MAARIKA JÄRVI (b. 1964) is a charming flutist, whose gratifying play has made a number of composers, especially from Estonia, to
create new opuses. Maarika is the one, who has introduced Estonian flute music around the world—from Detroit and New Jersey to Gothenburg, Cologne and Tokyo. After her studies in the USA, Maarika performed as a soloist with three Spanish orchestras.
She often performs with her brother’s Absolute Ensemble and the duo Martinika. Her repertoire (she has two little children) is imposing. Although Maarika lives in Switzerland and there is never enough time, she always takes part in Estonia’s most important festivals.
Husband: Olivier Alric.
